Why No Social Media?

Neon Law does not maintain official social media accounts. Instead, we rely on word-of-mouth and personal referrals to grow our business. Below, we explain our reasoning in greater depth, citing studies that discuss both the harms of social media and the benefits of referral-based networking.

Why Not?

We believe privacy is a fundamental human right, and we aspire to protect our clients’ confidentiality at every turn. While social media platforms can facilitate connectivity and free speech, these platforms also profit from extensive data collection. Numerous studies indicate that excessive social media use can negatively impact mental health and overall well-being, especially for younger users. For instance, research from the [Royal Society for Public Health][1] and a study published in the [Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology][2] both suggest a correlation between high social media use and increased anxiety, depression, and feelings of isolation.

Beyond these health considerations, social media often involves sharing personal data with corporate entities whose practices may not align with our professional obligations to protect client interests. We find this to be incompatible with our commitment to legal confidentiality and broader ethical standards.

What About Referrals?

We believe that referrals are a more reliable and authentic way to cultivate our client base. According to the Harvard Business Review, word-of-mouth marketing is among the most effective strategies for building trust in professional services. Clients referred through personal or professional networks often arrive with a higher level of confidence, having heard firsthand accounts of our legal competence and dedication.

If you are a licensed attorney and wish to refer a matter to us, we may be able to compensate you for that referral; please contact us at lawyers@neonlaw.com for more details. For non-attorney referrals, we are pleased to make a donation to the Neon Law Foundation in your honor, reflecting our commitment to community support and social responsibility.

What If You See Neon Law on Social Media?

If you encounter any social media account purporting to represent Neon Law, please note that such an account is unofficial. We encourage you to contact us at notices@neonlaw.com so we can investigate and, if necessary, take steps to remove any misleading content.

We remain steadfast in our decision to refrain from official social media activity. By focusing on client privacy, robust referrals, and transparent communication, we seek to preserve the integrity and trust that form the cornerstone of our legal practice.
