A landlord runs a tenant-screening report, and it is wrong — someone else's record under your name, an eviction that is not yours, a case that was dismissed. You can lose the apartment before anyone reads your side. Neon Law Nautilus puts a licensed attorney on that report. You forward us the denial and the report. We dispute the inaccurate items with the screening bureau under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which requires a reinvestigation within 30 days.

These reports are wrong in a few familiar ways — a mixed file that belongs to someone who shares your name, a record that should have aged off, a case that was dismissed or sealed. You have the right to a free copy of your own report; we help you get it, then dispute what is inaccurate. A licensed attorney reads and signs every letter before it goes out.

Most of these run one to four months, and we work to resolve them as quickly as the process allows. The fee is $66 a month while the matter is open — a flat legal fee for the dispute work, with no percentage of anything, and it does not rise with the number of items we dispute. When the matter is resolved, you cancel.

You see the work, not just hear about it. Your portal shows every letter we send, the attorney who signed it, and the reinvestigation deadline we are holding the bureau to.

Every letter we send can be anchored to the blockchain through Neon Law Node. We record a SHA-256 fingerprint of the signed letter on Solana — our wallet, your wallet, and the hash — so you hold a record that the exact letter existed and was signed. The letter stays private with you; only the fingerprint goes on-chain, and you can verify it any time. Anchoring is optional, and the Solana network fee passes through at cost.

Nautilus is rights work — not credit repair, and not a promise that a report changes. We dispute what is inaccurate and hold the bureau to the reinvestigation the law requires. If a bureau or a landlord broke the law and the answer is a lawsuit, we connect you with trial counsel who take it.

You are entitled to free copies of your screening reports, and we start there. If a matter needs a paid record — a certified court disposition, say — we tell you first and pass the actual cost through, with no markup.

A written engagement letter states the scope, the monthly fee, any cost you would owe, and how either of us can end the representation. Before it goes out, we run a conflict check. If a screening report stands between you and a place to live, email support@neonlaw.com with a short note about what was denied and who ran the report.
