Neon Law Foundation Nimbus puts Neon Law Navigator — the open-source legal-operations platform — onto your own infrastructure, under your own name. The Foundation does the installation, copies your data across, trains your people, and then hands you the keys. Because Neon Law Navigator is open source and your operators learn to run it, there is nothing to renew: you own your instance, your data, and your upgrade path when we leave.

Prefer to run the install yourself? The Foundation gives the very same recipe away, free and entirely in the open. The Operating Neon Law Navigator workshop stands up the identical stack on your own Google Cloud project, and a single navigator.yaml brand pack — your name, your logos, your domain — applies in one command. Nimbus is that same install, done for you, with your data migrated and your team trained across the three Nebula workshops below.

What the two weeks look like

Week one is the install. We stand Neon Law Navigator up on your own Google Cloud project and copy your existing data across, so that by the end of the week the software is running on your infrastructure with your records already in it. It ships without any of Neon Law's trademarks or branding — what your team opens is your own.

Week two is the training, and it runs on the same three workshops the Foundation publishes free at Nebula — so your team can preview the whole curriculum before we arrive:

• Day one — Using Neon Law Navigator. Your staff learn the day-to-day matter work: open a Project, bind a notation, run the checklist, advance a workflow toward signature.
• Day two — Operating Neon Law Navigator. Your operators learn to stand the stack up and keep it running on your own cloud.
• Day three — Contributing to Neon Law Navigator. Your team learns to pull from — and give back to — the open-source corpus the Foundation maintains in the open.

What you walk away owning

The operator training is the part that ends the relationship on purpose. Your operators learn to upgrade the platform themselves and to pull from the same open-source corpus the Foundation maintains in the open — which is exactly what day three, Contributing to Neon Law Navigator, teaches — so a new release, a new template, or a fix is yours to take whenever you want it. There is no follow-up engagement to buy and no recurring fee: if you never want to hear from us again, you do not have to. If you would rather we stay involved, we are glad to talk — but it is your choice, not a dependency we built in.

Legal aid centers

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to put the rights already written into law within reach of the people they belong to. Legal aid centers do that work every day, so they pay a reduced installation fee for Nimbus — the same install, the same data migration, and the same three days of training. If your organization serves people who cannot otherwise afford counsel, tell us when you write and we will talk through the discount.
