Nimbus is the Foundation's path for organizations that want help putting Neon Law Navigator on their own cloud, learning to operate it, or extending it for their work. Litbox owns the technology and is the engagement point for Nimbus: it can scope the installation, custom development, hosting, upgrades, support, and commercial licensing it is authorized to offer, including monthly SaaS options.
Nimbus is not the only way to run a practice on this stack. Litbox can also sell commercial licenses and services directly. This page routes every Nimbus inquiry to Litbox, including requests for commercial licensing or custom development.
The three parts of a Nimbus engagement
1. Install Navigator on your cloud
In week one, Litbox scopes and carries out the technical installation in your environment. That can include planning a data transition and configuring your brand. Navigator is proprietary software of Litbox, Inc.; the name and marks remain separate from the code and do not ship by default.
2. Run the three Foundation workshops
In week two, the engagement runs the same three workshops the Foundation uses for staff education through Nebula. Litbox educators or Neon Law Foundation educators can teach them. Your organization can preview the curriculum in advance, then use the sessions to work through its own operating questions:
- Day one — Using Neon Law Navigator. Your staff learn the day-to-day matter work: open a Project, bind a notation, run the checklist, advance a workflow toward signature.
- Day two — Operating Neon Law Navigator. Your operators learn to stand the stack up and keep it running on your own cloud.
- Day three — Contributing to Neon Law Navigator. Your team learns how authorized staff improve the product under Litbox ownership and the perpetual operator licenses.
3. Engage Litbox when the work needs more
The workshops give your team an operating foundation. When the organization needs a tailored integration, a feature, managed technical work, commercial license terms, or a monthly SaaS option, Litbox can scope the engagement at litbox.tech. Litbox's commercial terms apply only to the rights it is authorized to license and are set out in the written engagement.
Legal aid centers
The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to put the rights already written into law within reach of the people they belong to. Legal aid centers do that work every day. Litbox can scope a Nimbus engagement for nonprofit legal-aid and access-to-justice organizations, including installation, the three workshops, and custom technical work.
