# Neon Law

> Neon Law is a consumer law firm working on flat fees: wills, trusts, name changes, formations, and the other routine matters a person actually walks in with, alongside a litigation and company-counsel practice quoted per engagement.

Important notes:
- Nothing is legal advice without a signed retainer for an active project.
- A Template is a markdown file with YAML frontmatter, `questionnaire:`, `workflow:`, and `{{placeholders}}`.
- A Notation is a running instance of a Template, bound to a matter and respondent.
- When writing notation, ground questionnaire states and placeholders in the Navigator glossary before inventing `custom_*` fields.
- Use the Navigator CLI to validate templates, render documents, walk intake, fill forms, and download generated packets.

## Pages

- [Neon Law](https://www.neonlaw.com/): The firm's practice — flat-fee consumer legal work, litigation on both sides of the v., and company counsel for emerging technology companies.
- [Fractional CTO](https://www.neonlaw.com/fractional-cto): The firm runs the technology function for a law firm: AI enablement delivered through the firm, the privacy and compliance work under it, and complex counsel beside it. A law-related service, quoted per engagement.
- [Legal Services and fees](https://www.neonlaw.com/services): The flat-fee schedule: wills, trusts, name changes, formations, trademarks, tenant defense, and demand letters, each a fixed fee agreed before work begins and reviewed by a licensed attorney. The site names no dollar figure; email the firm for the fee on your matter.
- [Litigation](https://www.neonlaw.com/litigation): Plaintiff and defense: complex technology disputes for companies, and fraud cases for the people on the receiving end. Quoted per engagement.
- [Fractional General Counsel](https://www.neonlaw.com/fractional-gc): Company counsel on a flat monthly fee — cap table, employee agreements, and state tax filings, with a one-business-day redline turnaround.
- [Neon Law Navigator](https://www.neonlaw.com/navigator): The firm's legal project platform, source-available under BUSL-1.1, with an open invitation to co-counsel a pro bono case.
- [Presentations](https://www.neonlaw.com/presentations): Talks we give on building legal software; every talk below reads beneath it.
- [Writing](https://www.neonlaw.com/blog): Posts from the firm on litigation, company counsel, and building legal software.
- [Contact](https://www.neonlaw.com/contact): How to reach the firm about a matter, and what to include in the first email.

## Workshop Corpus

- [Using Neon Law Navigator](https://www.neonlaw.com/workshops/use-the-navigator.md): A single hands-on workshop for Lawyer users of the application. Open the litigation matter, bind the shared retainer template, and inspect the client portal through the configured AIDA connector.
- [Operating Neon Law Navigator](https://www.neonlaw.com/workshops/deploy-the-navigator.md): Stand up and operate your own Neon Law Navigator instance on a custom Google Cloud project. Six grounded steps walk `navigator ops gcp setup` — APIs, VPC, four buckets, and a GKE Autopilot cluster — with a dry-run that shows every API call before a packet leaves your laptop.
- [Contributing to Neon Law Navigator](https://www.neonlaw.com/workshops/contribute-to-the-navigator.md): Five ways authorized lawyers improve the product — open an issue, share what you learned, join a workshop or a presentation, or simply use it. No code required for most of them.
